Background
This gene encodes a cell surface receptor necessary for cellular iron uptake by the process of receptor-mediated endocytosis. This receptor is required for erythropoiesis and neurologic development. Multiple alternatively spliced variants have been identified.
Protocol / Instructions
The Anti-CD71(PE) Monoclonal Antibody is a rat monoclonal antibody that recognizes the mouse CD71 antigen. This antibody is conjugated to phycoerythrin (PE) and is recommended for use in flow cytometry (FCM) applications.
Reagents or Buffers:
1X Phosphate Buffered Saline (PBS), 0.1% Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA), and 0.1% sodium azide.
Sample Preparation:
Prepare single cell suspensions from mouse tissues or cells. Wash cells with 1X PBS and resuspend in staining buffer at a concentration of 1x10^6 cells per 100 uL.
Antibody Incubation:
Add 5 uL of the Anti-CD71(PE) Monoclonal Antibody to the cell suspension and incubate for 30 minutes at 4°C in the dark.
Washing or Detection:
Wash cells with 1X PBS and analyze by flow cytometry.
Technical Notes:
The recommended dilution for FCM is 5 uL/test. Titrate the antibody to determine the optimal dilution for specific applications.
