Background

Immunoglobulin G (IgG), is one of the most abundant proteins in serum with normal levels between 8-17 mg/mL in blood. IgG is important for our defence against microorganisms and the molecules are produced by B lymphocytes as a part of our adaptive immune response. The IgG molecule has two separate functions; to bind to the pathogen that elicited the response and to recruit other cells and molecules to destroy the antigen. The variability of the IgG pool is generated by somatic recombination and the number of specificities in an individual at a given time point is estimated to be 1011 variants. This product is reddish transparent liquid, containing 0.03% Proclin300.

Protocol / Instructions

Recommended workflow
Optimized handling and experimental guidance
Review the suggested sequence below before starting the assay to keep sample handling, incubation, and downstream interpretation aligned.
Lab-ready steps
ELISA Protocol

Reagents or buffers: Goat anti-Rabbit IgG, antigen, blocking buffer, substrate.

Sample preparation: Coat the plate with antigen, block with blocking buffer.

Antibody incubation: Incubate with Goat anti-Rabbit IgG at 1:5000-700000 dilution.

Washing or detection: Wash and add substrate for detection.

Technical notes: Optimize the dilution and incubation time for best results.

Western Blotting Protocol

Reagents or buffers: Goat anti-Rabbit IgG, transfer buffer, blocking buffer.

Sample preparation: Transfer the protein to a membrane, block with blocking buffer.

Antibody incubation: Incubate with Goat anti-Rabbit IgG at 1:1000-20000 dilution.

Washing or detection: Wash and detect using a suitable detection method.

Technical notes: Use the optimal dilution and incubation time for best results.

Double Immunodiffusion Protocol

Reagents or buffers: Goat anti-Rabbit IgG, agar, antigen.

Sample preparation: Prepare the agar plate, add antigen and Goat anti-Rabbit IgG.

Antibody incubation: Incubate at 1:8-64 dilution.

Washing or detection: Observe the precipitation line.

Technical notes: Optimize the dilution for best results.

Precautions

Store at 2-8°C, handle with care, use proper controls, and optimize the dilution and incubation time for best results.
