Background
Immunoglobulin G (IgG)，is one of the most abundant proteins in serum with normal levels between 8-17 mg/mL in blood. IgG is important for our defence against microorganisms and the molecules are produced by B lymphocytes as a part of our adaptive immune response. The IgG molecule has two separate functions;to bind to the pathogen that elicited the response and to recruit other cells and molecules to destroy the antigen. The variability of the IgG pool is generated by somatic recombination and the number of specificities in an individual at a given time point is estimated to be 1011 variants.
Protocol / Instructions
The Donkey Anti-Goat IgG is a versatile antibody that can be used in various applications, including ELISA and Western Blotting.
Reagents or buffers: Tris-buffered saline (TBS), Tween-20, non-fat dry milk, and the Donkey Anti-Goat IgG antibody.
Sample preparation: Prepare protein samples and separate them using SDS-PAGE. Transfer the proteins to a membrane and block with non-fat dry milk in TBS.
Antibody incubation: Incubate the membrane with the Donkey Anti-Goat IgG antibody at a dilution of 1:1000-20000 in TBS with Tween-20.
Washing or detection: Wash the membrane with TBS with Tween-20 and detect using a suitable detection method.
Technical notes: Optimize the antibody dilution and incubation time for best results.
