This gene is a classical cadherin from the cadherin superfamily. The encoded protein is a calcium dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein comprised of five extracellular cadherin repeats,a transmembrane region and a highly conserved cytoplasmic tail. The protein functions during gastrulation and is required for establishment of left-right asymmetry. At certain central nervous system synapses,presynaptic to postsynaptic adhesion is mediated at least in part by this gene product.
The Anti-Cadherin 2 Monoclonal Antibody is a high-quality antibody for detecting Cadherin 2 in various applications. Below are the protocols for the validated applications.
Reagents or buffers: RIPA buffer, SDS-PAGE gel, transfer buffer, blocking buffer, and ECL substrate.
Sample preparation: Prepare cell lysates using RIPA buffer and separate proteins by SDS-PAGE.
Antibody incubation: Incubate the membrane with the Anti-Cadherin 2 Monoclonal Antibody at a suitable dilution in blocking buffer for 1-2 hours at room temperature.
Washing or detection: Wash the membrane with TBST and detect the signal using ECL substrate.
Technical notes: The expected band size is approximately 100 kDa.

Sample preparation: Prepare paraffin-embedded tissue sections and deparaffinize with xylene and ethanol.
